1 / 3About the project
I was the engineering lead across the systems behind Ghanda’s headless Shopify build. The team wanted an experience that was fast, mobile-first and felt close to a native app. At the time, the requirements went beyond what we could deliver with a traditional Shopify Liquid theme.
We built the storefront in Next.js, hosted it on Vercel and used Prismic for content. Shopify handled commerce, but its Storefront Cart API was not yet available, so we used the Checkout API to provide the cart behaviour the storefront needed.
It was an early headless Shopify project in Australia and gave us a practical foundation for later work across other brands. The build was a collaboration between Ghanda and the Convert Digital team, with design, content and engineering working closely together.
This is one of the projects I’m proudest to have worked on at Convert Digital. There’s more beyond this selection — explore the team’s wider work.
